On Nov 4th 2016, on-site review meeting of new hybrid species “Xunlong No. 1” which was developed by National Fishery Original Breed and Improved Breed Authorization Commission Secretariat was held in Quzhou sub farm of Xunlong company. A group of specialists from CAFS Yangtze River Institute, CAFS Pearl River Institute, and Zhejiang Fishery Technology Promotion Station inspected the new hybrid species “Xunlong No. 1” bred by Xunlong and CAFS Heilongjiang River Institute, etc.
The specialist group investigated the body weight, ovary weight, and growth result of the new species, compared in detail the shape characteristics of “Xunlong No. 1”, Amur sturgeon, and Kaluga, looked at the brood stock and backup brood stock, heard a report on the breeding process of the new species, and reviewed the submitted materials. The specialist group unanimously believe “Xunlong No. 1”’s breeding process was clear, growth fast, taming easy, gonad index high, economic benefit of pilot study good, and agreed to let the project pass the on-site review and be submitted for yearly meeting review.
Among others, deputy director of CAFS Deng Wei, deputy director of CAFS Heilongjiang River Institute Shi Lianyu, director of CAFS Sturgeon Breeding Technology Center Liu Xiaoyong, and general manager of Xunlong Company Wang Bin attended the onsite review meeting.
