On September 28^th, review meeting of Xunlong 2014 State Spark Project “Example and Promotion of Russian Sturgeon Deep Water Efficient Healthy Farming Technology” was held in Hangzhou. The review meeting was organized by Zhejiang Science and Technology Department, supervised by director of Ministry of Science and Technology Village Center Spark and Information Department Yu Shuangmin. Project director and key technical staff of Xunlong attended the review meeting.

After the meeting began, the project director of Xunlong made a presentation on the project’s setup, goals, progress, fund usage, economic and social benefits achieved, etc. The review specialist committee addressed inquiries and made discussions regarding the presented material, and unanimously deem the project review material complete, fund usage reasonable and in compliance with Spark Project regulations of fund usage and management, project tasks fulfilled, projected technical and economic goals met, and agree to let it pass the review.

Thanks to the project, high survival rate of Russian sturgeon during summer in southern area was realized by maturing deep water cage summer farming technology. Advanced Russian sturgeon farming model and facilitating technologies were developed and integrated. Related technology standard was established. The goals of standard technology, efficient production, and safe product were realized. A 40,000m² deep water cage efficient healthy farming model base was set up. The technology was further applied to another 50,000m² Russian sturgeon cages with successful result. Through this project, the sustainable development of Russian sturgeon farming in southern area and further improvement of Russian sturgeon product quality are guaranteed.
