Director of Management Office of China visits Chunan for sturgeon trade management investigation

2016年03月30日

Sturgeon aquaculture has developed into a considerable industry in China that involves thousands of enterprises and tens of thousands of employees. Sturgeon is listed in CITES Appendix I and II, and is managed according to state protected animal level I and II in China. Export trade of sturgeon products must be accompanied by CITES papaers issued by Endangered Species Import & Export Management Office of China.

In the spirit of implementing the State Counsil's requirement of "simplify administration, facilitate enterprises" in the era of internet+, director Meng Xianlin of the Management Office visited our company with a goal of relieving sturgeon enterprises' burden in trade management, helping with problem solving, and investigating industry development.

With assistance from Wild Fauna Conservation Commission of China Wild Fauna Committee, the Management Office held  a Sturgeon Trade Management Seminar in Chunan on Mar 28th.

On this seminar, company general manager Wang Bin made a presentation reporting the company's implementation of CITES policies in its production and trade, the existing difficulties, and made suggestions of reform as chairman of Sturgeon Commission of China on behalf of all enterprises in the industry.

The directors of the Management Office also visited our net cage sub farms, the farming discharge water treatment facilities, etc, to know our farming procedure and listen to our workers' opinion.

During the investigation, the Management Office directors talked about the condition and trend in domestic and international sturgeon trade management,  and discussed with us the content of the intended management reform.

It is predicted that after this reform, management of sturgeon trade shall be more scientific, more in favor of protecting the interest of legal sturgeon enterprises, facilitating their production and trade as well as the status of Chinese sturgeon products in international trade.
