On Sep 29th and 30th, deputy Minister of Agriculture Zhang Taolin visited Hangzhou Qiandaohu Xunlong Sci-tech Co. Ltd., an example base for CAFS research achievement application.
Director of Ministry of Agriculture Fishery Bureau Zhao Xingwu, director of CAFS Zhang Xianliang, deputy director of Scientific Education Department of Ministry of Agriculture Liu Yan, director of CAFS East China Sea Institute, and related leaders from the governments of Zhejiang Province, Hangzhou and Quzhou accompanied the Minister in the visit.
Minister Zhang and his party visited the farming discharge water treatment platform in Qiandaohu sub farm, the pools in the Quzhou sub farms, the breeding plant, and the caviar processing plant.
After visiting the production site and making inquiries, Minister Zhang and his party listened to a report by company general manager Wang Bin. Minister Zhang told the directors of CAFS and managers of the company that they did a great job in research and applying research achievements to production. He was delighted to see a new industry was forged, leading Chinese fishery to high end commodity supply, and hoped the comrades shall continue the good work, propel the development of the industry, and realize the “China sturgeon dream”.
Starting from year 2013, with powerful support from CAFS and its institutes, Xunlong carried out experiment, pilot study, and application of “ecological environment friendly cage farming”, “farming discharge water bio treatment”, so as to limit the influence of sturgeon farming on the water resource to a minimum, and realize the harmony of aquaculture development and water resource protection. The system was reviewed by fishery and environment specialists and deemed as a reasonable design that’s innovative in technology, structure, and model. Its energy saving results were demonstrable and its cage farming sewage treatment capacity is at leading level in China.
