On Dec 28, 2017, the Central Human Asset Coordination Group published the 3rd batch of “Ten Thousand People Plan” leading asset list, which includes 723 technology innovation leading assets, 373 technological entrepreneur leading assets, 220 social science leading assets, and 197 leading teaching assets. Xunlong founder and general manager Wang Bin was listed as a technological entrepreneur leading asset.
Kaluga Queen of Xunlong is one of the biggest sturgeon farming and caviar producing brands in the world. Its output of caviar has ranked No. 1 in the world for several years, with approved product quality. Through years of hard work, Wang Bin led a team of researchers from an endangered species of fish to a billion dollar hi-tech industry, making China the biggest sturgeon farmer in the world accounting for 80% of global output.
From “Made in China” to “Created in China”, we kept our original aspiration. The new hybrid species “Xunglong No.1”co-developed by Xunlong, China Academy of Fishery Sciences Heilongjiang Institute, and China Academy of Fishery Sciences Sturgeon Breeding Technology and Engineering Center was approved as a state level new fishery species. The new species has the advantages of fast growth, easy taming, early maturation, and high roe yield. Having big and firm roes, a creamy taste and long after taste, caviar of the new species is considered a mid-high end product in the international market.
Encouraged by the spirit of entrepreneurship and through years of hard work, Wang Bin’s team overcome the difficulty of raising cold water fish in the southern heat. Defying the long wait, Wang Bin persisted in developing and producing high quality caviar product, and finally led the company onto the international stage. The extensive approval Xunlong got from the international market made a positive example of high quality food produced in China. Wang Bin being listed as state technological entrepreneur leading asset is well justified, and testifies that caviar truly is a high-tech product that deserves the name of soft gold.
